Brother Gene Ray has been recognized for his generous contributions to Murray State University.
As a scientist, entrepreneur, and corporate leader, Brother Gene is the recipient of the Kentucky OAK award (Outstanding Alumnus of Kentucky) for his professional achievements and support of his alma mater. Additionally, he is an MSU Distinguished Alumnus. A 1960 graduate of MSU, Ray serves as a trustee on the MSU Foundation board and is a Charter member of the Murray State Alpha Tau Omega chapter.
The Gene W. Ray Center for Racer Basketball, which opened on February 26, 2013, was made possible through the generous gifts of Brother Gene, his wife, and other donors. This facility, adjacent to the CFSB Center where the Racers have played their home games since 1998, is dedicated entirely to practice—the first of its kind for a team in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Brother Gene continues to support Murray State University. At Homecoming in 2013, he was honored for his professional accomplishments and support of the sciences at Murray State by having the Science Campus named after him.
We are proud to call Gene W. Ray a Brother! His contributions exemplify the true spirit of leadership within the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
